After our daughter was off-rolled because of her special needs we were desperately worried about our daughter missing out on an education giving her choices and opportunities in life. Now she couldn’t be happier, feeling challenged in a good way and learning a lot from the highly qualified teachers who all have a real passion for their subject and for teaching it. Following a period of sustained bullying which the state school our daughter was attending failed to deal with, as parents we felt lost as to what to do next. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK has seen a surge in new online education providers. Our internal research into Companies House records and director profiles of these new providers revealed that many were founded by individuals who appear to have no formal teaching qualifications or background in education.
This lack of professional experience often translated into poor curriculum delivery, limited live teaching, and inconsistent learner support.
